For 25 years, our promise to you has stayed the exact same: great food, warm hospitality, and a cozy space to make memories over a good meal. What started as a small, passionate family dream built around simple, cherished recipes has grown into one of the best restaurants in George for special occasions and fine casual dining.

You’ll find us right at 122 York Street in the heart of George, literally a short stroll down the road if you’re looking for a relaxed pre-theatre dinner near the George Arts Theatre. In our kitchen, Mediterranean classics and local South African favourites meet in a delicious fusion of flavours.

Our chef is obsessed with doing things the right way, honouring age-old traditions while bringing exciting new ideas to the table. We source fresh ingredients from local suppliers we know and trust, and every single dish is cooked fresh to order, just for you. We take our time because real food takes care: from fresh line fish and local Kingklip delivered daily and tender aged steaks prepared Italian-style, to homemade pasta and vibrant Mediterranean artisan flatbreads. Even our signature thin, crispy pizza bases, the very same recipe our founders introduced 25 years ago, are still hand-rolled right here in our kitchen every day, making them a local favorite for the best thin-base pizza takeaway in George.

We also love keeping things fresh, so on top of our full menu, you’ll always find new weekly chef specials up on our chalkboards. Our menu consists of:

Starters – A variety of appetisers from the La Capannina originals, salads, seafood and a variety of our unique Flatbreads

Signature Dishes – A selection of South African specialities and Italian favourites like a variety of Veal cutlet recipes

Seafood – Fresh fish daily, sourced from our local fishermen, including some of our customers’ favourites like grilled Sole or Kingklip

Grills – We serve a variety of aged/tender stakes prepared Italian style or our Chef’s specialities like Blackened Fillet, Pepper crusted Rump and Chateaubriand

Pasta – Legendary Italian recipes including dishes with local fusion. Homemade Ravioli, Tortellini and Risotto, including a variety of Gnocchi delights

Pizza – A large selection of our Chef’s creations or a Margherita with ingredients chosen by you. Our pizzas are freshly made to order with the freshest local ingredients on a thin, crispy base

Desserts – No meal is complete without a dessert. We offer traditional Italian delights and local specialities
